SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY: BOOST MORALE AND ATTRACT TALENT

When business leaders’ model and encourage supporting the community, it not only builds company morale, it’s also good for business.

78% of millennials only wanted to work for an organization with purpose and 69% would leave their company for a similar one that was more purpose driven (Source: https://www.greatplacetowork.ca….workplaces-for-giving-back-2023).

There are many ways for your company to support Brothers Big Sisters across Saskatchewan and in your community. Consider the following ideas (or come up with your own!)

Sponsor a provincial event or initiative, such as a volunteer recruitment drive or knowledge sharing.

Donate the proceeds from a company fundraising event (like a BBQ or a garage sale) to Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Match employees’ donations to Big Brothers Big Sisters or donate a portion of your sales to Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Allow (and encourage!) your employees to become a volunteer in-school mentor and spend one hour per week with their mentee engaging in activities to help build their mentee’s self-esteem.
